Call now: +90 232 270 26 10

A vet is at the hospital at night

Urlavet Veterinary Hospital is open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. At night, at weekends and on public holidays a veterinarian is on site at the hospital, so you do not have to wait for a vet to be called in. No appointment is needed in an emergency.

What to do in an emergency

  1. Call us before you leave or on the way. If you tell us you are coming, our team can get ready before you arrive: +90 232 270 26 10.
  2. Bring your pet to the hospital. Our vet stays at the hospital and cannot come to your home; treatment takes place at the hospital.
  3. Bring with you: the packaging of any medicines your pet takes, the packaging or a photo of anything you think your pet has swallowed, and the vaccination record.

Our address is Altıntaş Mah. Ahmet Besim Uyal Cd. No:54/C, 35430 Urla/İzmir. Get directions. From central Izmir it takes about 40 minutes on the motorway; for directions from other districts see our Izmir, Güzelbahçe and Seferihisar pages.

When to come in without waiting

If any of the following applies, do not wait until the morning:

  • You think your pet has swallowed poison, medicine or a foreign object
  • Your pet is struggling to breathe, or its tongue or gums are turning blue
  • Bleeding that will not stop, a road accident, a fall from a height or any other injury
  • Your pet is having a seizure or seems confused or unresponsive
  • Your pet is trying to pass urine but cannot (especially male cats)
  • The belly is swelling quickly, or your pet is trying to vomit but nothing comes up
  • Constant vomiting or bloody diarrhoea
  • Labour has gone on for a long time and no puppy or kitten is coming out

If you are not sure, call us.

What we do at night

Emergency examinations and emergency treatment are carried out at night as well: your pet is assessed and treatment for life-threatening problems starts straight away.

When surgery is needed (for example for a fracture), we give emergency care at night and get your pet’s pain and condition under control; the operation then takes place during the day. See our Surgery page for more.

Fees

The cost of an emergency examination and treatment depends on the case and the procedures needed. We are happy to give you information on the phone.
